"Ingenuity"

The inspiration for "Ingenuity" sparked from my enjoyment of folk music and personal creative process. Kara and I worked together to create a story of finding inspiration from the natural world around us and how we can find passion within ourselves. I focused on the philosophy of a new day, the consistency of the passage of time. Telling the story of how we often live with the regrets of not doing more of what we love, because of the our fear of standing out. In this piece we highlighted the dancers in different colors to represent how creativity is individual, yet also universal. I experimented with color paths, focus pallets, effects and timing with music to create the feeling of a day passing throughout the 10 minute dance.
